Title/Format/Rating/Source: Shepperson Studio Rehearsals - CD - B+ - Soundboard
Date/Location/Venue: 7/12/79 London, UK - Shepperton Studios, 08/01/74 - Atlanta, GA - The Omni, 08/15/98 - Bethel, NY - Woodstock
Year & Country Issued/Label: 1999 - Unknown - Unknown
Comments: This is a really neat piece. Odd typo for the title (should be "Shepperton Studio Rehearsals) as it even mentions the correctly spelled, "Shepperton" on the back cover. Most of the tracks here are live, Pete Townshend rehearsals and recorded with very good sound quality. The "bonus" tracks seem to be added as filler, as they are available <more complete> elsewhere. The packaging on this CD almost seems homemade, but it appears to be a silver disc (vs. CDr).
Track Listing: Shepperton '79:
Drowned (take 1), Drowned (take 2), I'm One, Blue Suede Shoes, False Start,
Let's See Action (take 1), Bargain (take 1), Won't Get Fooled Again (edit), Big
Boss Man, Let's See Action (take 2), Tattoo, Cat's In The Cupboard, Bargain
(take 2), Drowned (takes 3&4), Messing Around, Let's See Action (take 3)
Atlanta '74: Layla
Woodstock '98: On The Road Again, A Little Is
Enough, Save It For Later, Drowned, Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere, You Better You

Comments: A very "popular" bootleg. Probably due to the venue and extensive set list. However, the sound quality is only an "OK" audience recording.

Title/Format/Rating/Source: Brighton '79 - CD - C - Audience
Date/Location/Venue: 11/11/79 - Brighton, UK - The Brighton Center
Year & Country Issued/Label: 2000 - UK - Unknown
Comments: Lots of chat between the songs. The back cover lists "I Can't Explain" and "Baba O'Riley" as the first 2 songs, but they aren't included. The last song, "Dancing In The Streets" is cut off after about 15 seconds.
Track Listing: Punk And The Godfather, Boris The Spider, Sister Disco, Behind Blue Eyes, The Music Must Change, Drowned, Who Are You, 5:15, Long Live Rock, My Generation, Dreaming From The Waist, Sparks, Won't Get Fooled Again, Trick Of The Light, Young Man Blues, Big Boss Man, How Can You Do It Alone?, Shakin' All Over, Dancing In The Street

Date/Location/Venue: 12/03/79 - Cincinnati, Ohio - Riverfront Coliseum
Year & Country Issued/Label: 1980 - Canada - Black Gold
Comments: As the title indicates, this is the famous Cincinnati concert where 13 people died while being trampled by other fans trying to get in. As far as the contents are concerned, another "OK" audience recording.
Track Listing: Peter Townshend Interview, Substitute, I Can't Explain, Baba O'Riley, The Punk Meets The Godfather, My Wife, Music Must Change, Behind Blue Eyes, Drowned, Who Are You, Five Fifteen, Pinball Wizard, My Generation, Epilogue

Title/Format/Rating/Source: Long Live Rock - CD - B - - Soundboard
Date/Location/Venue: 12/08/79 - Chicago, IL - International Amphitheater
Year & Country Issued/Label: 2005 - Japan - Wardour
Comments: Fair mono soundboard - seems to be sourced from a video. Some tracks are clean, others are slightly distorted. The volume seems to start out loud on several tracks, then lowers. Great performance of "Dance It Away"
Track Listing: Substitute, I Can't Explain, Baba O'Riley, The Punk And The Godfather, My Wife, Sister Disco, Behind Blue Eyes, Music Must Change, Drowned, Who Are You, 5:15, Pinball Wizard, See Me, Feel Me, Long Live Rock, My Generation, I Can See For Miles, Sparks, Won't Get Fooled Again, The Real Me, Dancing In The Streets, Dance It Away, Young Man Blues, Roadrunner, Big Boss Man/I'm A Man, How Can You Do It Alone

Comments: I can tell you a long story about someone happily buying this LP for $30, and then offering it for $3 after he listened to it, but I wont. Another stinker...
Track Listing: Substitute, I Can't Explain, Baba O'Riley, The Punk Meets The Godfather, My Wife, Sister Disco, Behind Blue Eyes, Music Must Change, Drowned, Who Are You, 5:15, Pinball Wizard, See Me, Feel Me, Long Live Rock, My Generation, I Can See For Miles, Won't Get Fooled Again

Title/Format/Rating/Source: Gonna Rape You - LP - C+ - Audience
Date/Location/Venue: 12/15/79 - New Haven, CT - Memorial Coliseum
Year & Country Issued/Label: 1980 - USA - Vinyl Dreams
Comments: I remember reading in Ed Hanel's Discography, that this one was rated as "Excellent", so I drove all over NYC trying to find it. When I finally got it on a turntable, the smile disappeared from my face, because to my standards, this one sounded like shit. Unfortunately, one of the problems of not doing the reviews yourself. Anyway, this is another "OK" audience recording, that I really wish was excellent!
Track Listing: I Can't Explain, Baba O'Riley, The Punk Meets The Godfather, 5.15, Music Must Change, Substitute, My Wife, Drowned, Pinball Wizard, See Me, Feel Me, Who Are You, Love Live Rock, My Generation, I Can See For Miles, Sister Disco, Sparks, Won't Get Fooled Again, Behind Blue Eyes, Summertime Blues, Dancing In The Streets/Dance It Away/How Can You Do It Alone

Date/Location/Venue: 12/28/79 - London, UK - Hammersmith Odeon
Year & Country Issued/Label: 1980 - Japan - Unknown
Comments: For some reason, I thought that this one might have been a more complete soundboard of the tracks that were officially released ("Concert For The People Of Kampuchea" - see Who Related Albums section). However, as most of the recordings from this time period, another "OK" audience recording.
Track Listing: Substitute, I Can't Explain, Baba O'Riley, Sister Disco, Behind Blue Eyes, 5.15, The Punk And The Godfather, Who Are You, Summertime Blues, Dancing In The Street, The Real Me
