Title: The Kids Are Alright - Show 90-12 - For Broadcast June 16-17, 1990

Format: LP

Label/Date: Westwood One/1990

Comments: This is an edit of the 9/3/89 (Labor Day) Cotton Bowl show from Dallas, Texas and it was the last show of the USA tour. Unfortunately, when this show was originally broadcast live, it was intentionally distorted (very heavy compression) to discourage bootlegging. This version, although edited, has excellent sound quality (the vinyl version of this radio show actually sounds even better). Great performance of "Magic Bus" - one of my favorites.

At the end of the live broadcast (not included with the promos, but included as a bonus below), Pete went on a rant and Westwood One cut him off the air. I called them the next day to ask why they didn't continue to broadcast Pete and they explained that with all of his swearing, they risked losing their jobs!

Note: This show was also pressed onto CD (see show # 92-17 below), but the vinyl version is a little warmer sounding

Track Listing: I Can't Explain, Substitute, I Can See For Miles, Tommy Medley (Sparks, Pinball Wizard, etc.), Baba O'Riley, Eminence Front, Face The Face, Boris The Spider, Magic Bus, 5:15, Love Reign O'er Me, Who Are You

Title: Superstar Concert Series - Pete Townshend - Show #96 - 23 for broadcast the week of June 3, 1996

Format: CD

Label/Date: Westwood One Entertainment/1996

Comments: This is an edit of the 1996 Pete Townshend Fillmore West concert, which was available via Pete's old eelpie website. This same show was also released by Westwood One (WW1) with "The Shout" in place of "Parvardigar". The sound quality on the WW1 discs is slightly better than the unedited, released version because of the unnecessary compression used in the mastering of the "official" version.

Track Listing: Let My Love Open The Door, English Boy, Drowned, Cut My Hair, I'm One, Heart To Hang On To, Parvardigar, A Friend Is A Friend, I Am An Animal, Slit Skirts, Eyesight To The Blind, Now And Then, Rough Boys, Magic Bus

Title: Superstar Concert Series - The Who - "Tommy" - Show #96 - 44 for broadcast the week of October 28, 1996

Format: CD

Label/Date: Westwood One Entertainment/1996

Comments: This is an edit of the 06/27/89 "Tommy" performance at Radio City Music Hall, NYC. The "Tommy" portion of the show is complete, but the encore only has 2 of the tracks (most of the other encore tracks are on another WW1 show). The sound quality is excellent, but not as good as the vinyl version, which seems to have been mastered better.

Track Listing: Overture, It's A Boy, Amazing Journey, Sparks, Eyesight To The Blind, Christmas, Cousin Kevin, The Acid Queen, Pinball Wizard, Do You Think It's Alright?, Fiddle About, There's A Doctor, Go The The Mirror, Smash The Mirror, Tommy Can You Hear Me?, I'm Free, Miracle Cure, Sally Simpson, Sensation, Tommy's Holiday Camp, We're Not Gonna Take It, See Me, Feel Me, I Can't Explain, Substitute

Title: Superstar Concert Series - The Who: "Quadrophenia" - Show #96 - 48 for broadcast the week of November 25, 1996

Format: CD

Label/Date: Westwood One Entertainment/1996

Comments: This is an edit of the 07/18/96 "Quadrophenia" live broadcast from Madison Square Garden, NYC. I expected this to be a spectacular sounding version, but unlike most of the other WW1 shows, this one didn't sound all that great. I was unhappy with the mix/mastering and some of the unnecessary editing. "The Rock" is missing and "Quadrophenia" (the song)  is chopped up. Better sounding (and unedited) versions of this concert became available as apparently someone recorded a DAT tape on the soundboard and it was heavily traded.

Track Listing: The Real Me, Quadrophenia, Cut My Hair, The Punk And The Godfather, I'm One, Dirty Jobs, Helpless Dancer, Is It In My Head, I've Had Enough, 5:15, Sea And Sand, Drowned, Dr. Jimmy, Love Reign O'er Me

Comments: This show is an edit of the 12/04/73 "Quadrophenia" concert from Philadelphia, PA. What makes this show a little more unique is that the sound quality is improved over some of the previous released promo versions of the concert and the inclusion of "My Wife".

Title: Pete Townshend - The Lifehouse Chronicles - Show #00 -15 for broadcast the week of April 3, 2000

Format: CD

Label/Date: Westwood One/2000

Comments: Pete performed two "Lifehouse" shows at Sadler's Wells (UK) on February 25th & 26th, 2000. One was released (Sadler Wells 2000), unedited on CD via <former> eelpie website , and this is the other show, edited. This show has great sound quality, as well as a very good mix and excellent mastering. The official version has all of the tracks, but this one sounds a little better.

Track Listing: Baba O'Riley, Love Ain't For Keepin', Sister Disco, One Note Prologue, Behind Blue Eyes, Mary, Bargain, Pure And Easy, Let's See Action, Going Mobile, Relay, Who Are You, Join Together, Won't Get Fooled Again, The Song Is Over, Can You Help The One You Really Love?
