The Who - 80's "Best Of" and Compilations:
80'S "BEST OF" AND COMPILATIONS
Most of the tracks on these albums have been subsequently reissued. Here are some notable exceptions:
"The Who Collection Volume 2" contains the longest studio version of "Magic Bus". (Unfortunately in simulated stereo.)
"Who's Better, Who's Best" has the true stereo <original> version of "I'm A Boy". A different, less refined mix was subsequently released on the "30 Years ... " box set and "My Generation: The Very Best Of The Who".
"The Who Singles" collection features an interest mix of "I Can See For Miles", which has a loud, overdubbed bass line. This was not the mono single version as one might be mislead, but rather the BBC version. This version was re-released on the "BBC Sessions" album, but with inferior sound quality.
